ChatGPT Official Android App Launches on Google Play: Installation Guide
Recently, OpenAI has officially listed the ChatGPT app on the Google Play Store, bringing great news to Android users. Android users can now experience the powerful features of ChatGPT directly on their phones.
Install the Official ChatGPT App on Android
Before you begin, you need to prepare:
- Google Play Store installed on your phone
- A US or European region Google account
- Internet access from a region supported by OpenAI
Note: Google accounts from mainland China or Hong Kong cannot search for the genuine ChatGPT official application. The search results are filled with third-party applications. To install the official ChatGPT app, you need to use a Google account from the US, Europe, or other supported regions.

When installing, make sure it is produced by OpenAI to avoid installing third-party apps.
Manual Installation (Not Recommended):
If you do not have a US or European region Google account, you can also choose to install manually, but note: ensure that you have already installed the Google Play Store on your phone, because the ChatGPT app relies on Google Play Services. If you do not have the Google Play Store installed, you will not be able to use the ChatGPT app.

Troubleshooting Login Failures
If you encounter the following error when logging into ChatGPT on the Android app:
Something went wrong. Please restart the app and try again.
Something went wrong. Please make sure your device has the latest version of Google Play.
This is caused by an outdated version of Google Play. Since ChatGPT relies on Google Play Services, you only need to upgrade Google Play to the latest version and restart the app.
