In this article, we continue to introduce the "SiYuan Notes" browser extension, which helps you quickly clip web pages (provided you have already installed "SiYuan Notes" locally).

Install SiYuan Browser Extension

Currently, the official extension is only available for Chrome and Edge browsers. The specific addresses are as follows:

Note: The Chrome browser extension requires a proxy.

SiYuan Browser Extension Settings

First, open the client settings (Alt + P) - About - find the API token, copy and record it.

Next, open the browser extension you just installed, fill in the API token, and select which "Notebook" to save the content to.

SiYuan's web clipping cannot be subdivided into specific sub-categories. xiaoz suggests creating a separate "Notebook" specifically for storing web clipping content to avoid confusion.

Using the SiYuan Browser Extension

Open an article you like, click the SiYuan icon in the upper right corner of the browser, and then click "Send to SiYuan" to clip the web page.

I rarely use web clipping, so I cannot compare its effectiveness with other products. Personally, I feel the effect is quite good. Welcome experts to share their experiences with other web clipping tools in the comments.

Summary

  • The SiYuan browser extension can work with the "SiYuan Notes" client to help us quickly clip web pages we like, but it currently only supports Chrome and Edge browsers.
  • The SiYuan browser extension cannot save clipped content to sub-categories, so it is recommended to create a separate notebook for collection to avoid content confusion.
