Amazon Cloud Drive Offers 5GB Free Storage: A Guide to Temporary Image Hosting
Amazon Cloud Drive is a personal cloud storage service launched by Amazon, which went live in China on April 19, 2013. For over two years since its launch, it has remained relatively low-key, with few users familiar with it. I (Xiao Z) only recently discovered and experienced it.
As long as you are an Amazon China member, you can log in to Amazon Cloud Drive, and everyone gets 5GB of free space. Compared to domestic cloud drives, the capacity doesn't seem to have an advantage, but it has some unique features, such as using the HTTPS encryption protocol, unlimited traffic (no official traffic limit has been found), and the ability to directly copy links to wherever you want.
Amazon Cloud Drive supports PC, Android, and iOS clients. Unfortunately, support for the PC client seems unfriendly because the official PC client download has been closed. Users who have already downloaded it can continue to use it. If you use Amazon Cloud Drive only for storage, it is still a good choice, but if you want to use it for file synchronization, the functionality is likely weak.
Amazon Cloud Drive does not have a file sharing feature, but it can obtain real and valid links, and they are direct links. This saves a step compared to general cloud drives. Let's take a look at how to obtain real links from Amazon Cloud Drive.
1. How to Get Image Links
First, upload any image to Amazon Cloud Drive -> Double-click to enlarge the image -> Move the mouse over the image -> Right-click and select "Copy Image Address" (the name may vary in different browsers) -> Open a text tool -> Press Ctrl + V. In this way, you obtain a real and valid address from Amazon Cloud Drive. This address is encrypted via HTTPS and can be used for your website or blog.

2. How to Get Attachment Links
- First, select an attachment, then click the download button to start downloading.

- In the browser's download toolbar, obtain the attachment link. Different browsers may vary; the illustration shows the Firefox browser download toolbar.

- Finally, paste the obtained attachment link (Ctrl + V) into any text tool. Refer to Figure 1-2.
Amazon Cloud Drive's official website does not mention traffic limits in its official documentation. Currently, it seems to be unlimited, and the download speed is quite good. Additionally, placing the obtained image URL on your website is feasible. However, Xiao Z does not recommend doing this, as Amazon may change its policies one day and impose restrictions on images, causing unnecessary trouble. But for those using it as a temporary image hosting service, this solution is worth considering.
