Two critical points to note: The Company Name and your Identity Number (Ste 112xxx). Do not omit these two pieces of information, or it may affect your package check-in. However, if some address fields do not allow you to enter company information, you can do the following:

Top-Up Balance

Topping up the balance on Tiptrans is not very user-friendly for domestic users. They support PayPal and bank transfers, but the funds are not credited in real-time. When I first topped up using PayPal, it triggered a risk control check, and the funds were automatically credited after about one day. Beginners are recommended to use PayPal for top-ups, with a minimum requirement of $10.

For first-time use, you can choose not to top up immediately. Once the package is checked in, the balance will automatically be deducted into the negative, and you can top up later to offset the cost.

Package Check-In

When your corresponding address receives the package and it is checked in, Tiptrans will send an email notification, which will also include a scanned (photographed) screenshot.

You can then view the detailed information in the backend. The first check-in incurs a $10 fee; subsequent check-ins appear to be free.

Forwarding to China

When forwarding, you need to fill in key information, such as:

• Content Description: It is recommended to fill this in truthfully to avoid customs seizure.
• Carrier: Choose which courier to use.
• Insurance: Insurance requires an additional fee and provides compensation if the package is lost.

After filling in the information, click "Shipping" and wait for customer service to arrange the shipment. Their efficiency is quite good, usually shipping within 1 working day. After shipping, the backend provides a tracking number so you can check the logistics progress yourself.

My Real Forwarding Experience

I have currently used Tiptrans forwarding addresses in the UK and Germany, and both have successfully received and forwarded packages to China.

UK Route:

Forwarded a standard letter. Costs: Check-in fee $10 + Packaging fee $5 + Insurance $1.5 + Shipping fee $25 = $41.5. For shipping from the UK to China, I chose Royal Mail, which hands over to EMS upon arrival in China. You can track the logistics progress via EMS. Timeline:

• 2023-05-19: Package checked in
• 2023-05-22: Shipment started
• 2023-05-22: Arrived in Shanghai
• 2023-06-02: Successfully received

A pitfall here: Royal Mail did not print the phone number, so it is recommended to include your phone number in the Tiptrans address field.

Germany Route:

Also forwarded a standard letter. Costs: Check-in fee $0 + Packaging fee $5 + Insurance fee $1 + Shipping fee $7 = $13. This option is much cheaper than the UK route. The logistics carrier chosen was the disappointing Czech Post. Timeline:

• 2023-05-24: Shipment started
• 2023-06-11: Arrived in Beijing
• 2023-06-16: Successfully received

This Czech Post service was very slow, with no logistics updates for 17 days. I initially thought the package was lost, but I eventually received it successfully. Others who chose the same Czech Post service arrived in China in about a week. I believe this might be because packages are only dispatched in bulk once a certain quantity is reached, so my waiting time might have been the longest.
