Leanote is the most comprehensive cloud note-taking tool I have found so far. It supports markdown input, code highlighting, collaboration, note history, internal navigation within notes, and direct publishing as a blog, among other features. Additionally, it is completely open-source, so you can deploy it on your own server.
I started with Youdao Note, then moved to Evernote, and later switched to Wiz Note. I have been using Wiz Note since 2012. Initially, Youdao Note did not support code insertion, and I found that code insertion in Evernote was messy. Then I discovered the amazing markdown markup language, which made formatting issues a thing of the past. So, I switched to Wiz Note, which supports markdown natively.
Wiz Note has been my main note-taking tool since 2014. Recently, Wiz Note started charging for its services, offering only a 100-day free trial. However, the price is quite reasonable, with a 50 CNY annual VIP subscription. I purchased it to show my support and hope that Wiz Note continues to develop.
Let's not discuss whether charging for Wiz Note is right or wrong. If you find it helpful, you can choose to pay for it. If not, you can abandon it. As a company, it is necessary to make a profit, so there is no need to criticize it.
I learned about Leanote a long time ago on the V2 community, but I didn't pay much attention to it at the time. However, due to Wiz Note's charging policy, I became interested in this open-source product. I have now deployed it on my own server for testing. Though it still has some bugs and shortcomings, basic text writing and knowledge management work flawlessly.
Currently, Wiz Note is still my primary tool, with Leanote as a secondary option. I hope Leanote continues to grow and prosper.
