Haroopad is a free Markdown editor that supports Windows, Linux, and Mac OS platforms. While MarkdownPad was previously introduced in an article, it requires a paid professional version for certain features and lacks multi-platform support. Haroopad serves as a complete alternative.

Additional Notes

Initially, it was thought that Haroopad did not support syntax highlighting for inserted code. However, testing revealed that by setting the code block language to JavaScript, HTML code can be displayed with syntax highlighting, as shown in the screenshot below.
