All in One SEO is a powerful SEO plugin that allows you to set keywords and descriptions for individual articles, as well as automatically add keywords to articles and more. However, because All in One SEO is so powerful, we should use it with caution.

Many people install various SEO plugins for website optimization, including myself. I initially installed All in One SEO and found it very convenient (because at that time, I didn't know how to set keywords and descriptions for my website, and this plugin helped me a lot). There are also opinions online that this plugin is not very friendly to Baidu search engine, but I personally think that it is not the case. It is more likely that many of us are not using it correctly.

I asked some friends and found that after installing this plugin, they never touched it again and did not make any specific settings. They just left the plugin with its default options, possibly because they were too lazy to read the settings in English. This is the root cause of the problem.

First, All in One SEO is set to automatically generate keywords and descriptions by default. However, the theme we use may also have its own SEO function and automatically set keywords and descriptions. This results in duplicate keywords and descriptions, which is very unfavorable. We can check the source code to see if there are duplicates and disable this function if necessary. See the screenshot below:

Second, some people say that using the "noindex" feature in All in One SEO prevents Baidu from indexing the content. However, I have disabled this feature. In the backend, go to All in One SEO > General Settings > Noindex Settings and uncheck the default option. See the screenshot below:

This plugin has always been controversial. Some people say it is not very friendly to Baidu, while others have no issues with content indexing. In conclusion, no WordPress plugin can achieve 100% perfection. They all have their pros and cons, so it is important to consider your own needs before using them.
