Xshell 6 Official Release: Installation Guide and Key Features
Xshell is a powerful SSH client. I have been using Xshell 5 for a while, and today I received an official email notification about Xshell 6. Upon visiting the official website, I confirmed that Xshell 6 has indeed been officially released.
Download Xshell 6
Many people mistakenly believe Xshell is paid software and search for cracked or Chinese-patched versions online. This is unnecessary. Xshell natively supports Chinese and offers a free license for home and school use. It is best to download it directly from the official source for security.
Visit the official address https://www.netsarang.com to fill in your name and email. The download link will be sent to your inbox, as shown in the screenshot below.
The official download speed may be slow. You can use a proxy server or download from the xiaoz software library: Xshell-6.0.0086p.exe.
Important: During installation, if asked to choose a version, select Home/School Use. This prevents pop-ups asking you to purchase a license later.
Synchronize Session Settings
If you use Xshell on multiple computers, manually adding SSH information to each one is inefficient. You can synchronize session settings by configuring the session folder in Xshell > Tools > Options > General and syncing it to a cloud drive (e.g., Seafile). Ensure all computers point to the same session folder to avoid re-entering SSH credentials.
File Upload and Download

If you have Xftp installed, you can click the icon in the screenshot below or press the shortcut Ctrl + Alt + F to automatically open Xftp and establish an SFTP connection for easy file management.

Xshell has many other practical features to explore after installation. Compared to Xshell 5, the Xshell 6 interface appears more comfortable.
