The author previously shared tips on binding cards and making payments for OpenAI/ChatGPT. Over time, some virtual cards have become invalid, but fortunately, ChatGPT has added more payment methods. This article continues to organize the virtual cards and methods the author has tried that are still usable for paying OpenAI/ChatGPT.

The following content may not be suitable for beginners!!!

General Precautions

I have placed the precautions at the beginning. These are general and must be noted when paying for OpenAI/ChatGPT:

  • Name: It is recommended to use the Pinyin of your real name (e.g., ZHANG SAN).
  • Clean Proxy Node: A clean proxy node is required (unclean nodes may trigger risk control and prevent payment).
  • Billing Address: It is recommended to use a tax-free state address in the US (searchable via Google Maps or generated by AI). These include parts of Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon.

Using a billing address outside tax-free regions will incur additional taxes!!!

Paying for ChatGPT Plus

There are currently many available payment channels for ChatGPT Plus, and the threshold is much lower than before. The methods the author has learned and tried are as follows.

For Android Users

This method has a relatively low threshold. For specific operations, please refer to: Binding a Domestic Credit Card to Google Play to Subscribe to ChatGPT Plus.

For iOS Users

  • Register for an overseas Apple ID (e.g., US) and install ChatGPT.
  • Purchase gift cards to redeem balance.
  • Use Apple In-App Purchase to pay for ChatGPT Plus.

Paying OpenAI Bills

The above two methods can only be used to pay for ChatGPT Plus but cannot be used to pay OpenAI bills. Paying OpenAI bills still requires binding a foreign debit card. The following methods are more versatile; they can be used to pay both OpenAI bills and ChatGPT Plus. The virtual cards (physical cards) the author has tried and found usable for OpenAI/ChatGPT Plus are as follows.

WildCard (Low Threshold)

Registration and usage costs are relatively low, KYC is not required, and it supports various payment scenarios.

BinPay

Requires USDT recharge, LV1 certification is simple, and it supports various payment scenarios.

Ucards

Requires USDT recharge. Currently, it seems to have closed registration for individual users in mainland China, but domestic enterprises can still register. The advantage is that it supports many card segments, but the certification threshold is slightly higher.

WISE (Medium Threshold)

WISE overseas accounts can open virtual cards and physical cards for OpenAI payments.

Advantages of WISE include:

  • Powerful functionality and easy operation.
  • Lower fees.
  • Provides both virtual and physical cards (in overseas regions).

Disadvantages include:

  • Difficulty in funding (OCBC can be used to activate WISE).
  • Thresholds for overseas mailing addresses.
  • Strict risk control.

Conclusion

The above are some methods the author has learned and tried. Of course, there are many other foreign virtual cards that are usable. Due to high thresholds for some virtual cards, potential compliance risks, and the fact that the author has not tried some of them, they are not recommended one by one here.
