The Edifier R12U that I am currently using was purchased in June 2016. It has been used for nearly 7 years and still functions properly. I have to say, "The quality of this product is really good."

Recently, I plan to pair my Intel Nuc 8 with a desktop speaker, and this time I chose the Edifier M25 again.

Getting Started with Edifier M25

The M25 has a built-in sound card and only requires a USB connection, but it does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack. This helps reduce cluttered cables and make the desktop more tidy. However, this is also a drawback for users who need a 3.5mm jack as they cannot meet their needs.

The M25 supports Bluetooth connection and uses the Bluetooth 5.3 protocol, which is more advanced compared to other hundred-yuan Bluetooth speakers. The Bluetooth connection can be switched by short pressing the power button on the top.

Users can download the official "Edifier Connect" app for connection control. In the app, users can switch between different modes, including "Music," "Game," and "Movie." However, I feel that there is not much difference in the effects.

The app also allows users to adjust the ambient light, while those who do not like the lights can choose to turn it off. I personally don't like overly fancy lights, but fortunately, I can turn it off.

Before purchasing the Edifier M25, I returned two other brand speakers (a long time ago) because they made a buzzing sound when idle. Therefore, I was also worried that the Edifier M25 would have the same problem, but it didn't actually happen.

In addition, the Edifier M25 also supports a microphone, but I haven't tested or used it yet. I will supplement it after I use it.

Edifier M25 Sound Quality

For hundred-yuan speakers, the basic requirement is to produce sound, and the sound quality is not high. Therefore, the sound quality of these speakers is usually average, and even worse than my Xiaomi 10s phone.

Conclusion

The Edifier M25 has rich features and a reasonable price, which is worth considering. However, the appearance of the product is mediocre, and it does not support a 3.5mm headphone jack. Therefore, if you care about appearance or need a headphone jack, I do not recommend buying the Edifier M25.
