Hitomi-Downloader: A Free Open-Source Video Downloader for Windows
Users familiar with IDM know its powerful feature of sniffing various video and audio resources from websites and providing quick downloads. Unfortunately, IDM is paid software. For those unwilling to pay for IDM, xiaoz found a free software called "Hitomi-Downloader". User Experience
Every time it opens, it checks for updates, which requires waiting for dozens of seconds. This experience is not very good; personally, I think it should check for updates silently in the background.

After some videos are downloaded, ffmpeg is called for conversion. The conversion speed is found to be very slow. My computer has an RTX 3050 GPU and an AMD 3600 CPU, which is not a bad configuration, but the conversion is still slow.

If you download videos from inaccessible sites like Pixiv or YouTube, you need to set up an HTTP proxy in "Options -- Settings -- Advanced Settings -- Proxy -- Set HTTP Proxy", otherwise you cannot download (you know the reason). Most SS tools or v2ray clients support HTTP proxies, so I won't go into detail here; please explore it yourself.

After setting it up, I tried downloading videos from Pixiv, and it worked (videos downloaded from Pixiv don't even need transcoding).

Summary
- Hitomi-Downloader only supports the Windows system.
- Some videos downloaded by Hitomi-Downloader are usable only after transcoding; xiaoz tested that transcoding is very slow, not sure if this is an individual case.
- If downloading videos from outside the wall, you need to set up a proxy yourself.
- Hitomi-Downloader supports a large number of video websites.
