uTools is a minimalist, plugin-based, cross-platform modern desktop software that supports Windows, MacOS, and Linux systems. It has been briefly introduced in the article "Versatile, Cross-platform Efficiency Tool uTools", and pluginization is the core of uTools. If uTools is used without an internet connection, it cannot install plugins online, which means it is in a disabled state. However, the official website provides a download address for offline plugins (relatively hidden), which can be manually installed.
First, go to the uTools official website: https://u.tools/ to download the main program and install it.
Go to the plugin page: https://api.u-tools.cn/Plugins/Developer/allPlugins and download the plugins you need.
After downloading, the file will have the *.upx
extension. Select the downloaded plugin and press Ctrl + C
to copy it.
Once again, press the shortcut ALT + Space
to bring up uTools, and you will see the installation options. Follow the prompts to install the plugin.
uTools supports cross-platform usage, has a rich collection of plugins, and the number of plugins is continuously increasing. It can also be developed according to individual needs. uTools can significantly improve efficiency, and I recommend everyone to give it a try.
