Linode Launches $5 Plan with $20 Credit for New Users
Founded in 2003, Linode is a veteran hosting provider. Previously, the lowest configuration cost $10/month. Due to reduced costs and increasing competition from rivals like DigitalOcean and Vultr, Linode has not only launched a $5/month plan but also significantly upgraded its network bandwidth.

The lowest configuration, 1 core and 1GB RAM, is now available for just $5/month, with all network connections upgraded to 1000M shared bandwidth. The Tokyo, Japan and Fremont, CA nodes generally offer better performance for users in mainland China, though actual results may vary depending on individual local networks. Linode bills hourly, allowing you to test data centers in different regions freely.
