HostUS was founded in 2012 and is a cloud hosting service provider located in the United States. It offers 7 data centers to choose from and mainly operates virtual hosting and VPS products, which are cost-effective. The VPS uses OpenVZ virtualization technology.

一、Routing Trace

Randomly test routing traces with three different ISPs. Both China Telecom and China Unicom have direct connections to Hong Kong, while some mobile nodes are routed through Singapore, and a small number of mobile areas are routed through China Unicom and China Telecom exits. From the routing trace results, China Telecom and China Unicom are both good, but the mobile route is not ideal. See the screenshots below. 二、Super Ping Test

三、Notes

When registering with HostUS, it is recommended to provide accurate information to avoid being mistaken for fraud by the system. HostUS supports Paypal payment, but when making the first purchase, it was found that payment cannot be made after placing an order. Usually, you can submit a ticket for customer service to handle it.

四、Suitable Use Cases

Although HostUS Hong Kong is hosted in the SoftLayer data center, international bandwidth is still very expensive, so the protection capability is relatively weak. It is recommended that users regularly back up their data. It is suitable for setting up shadowsocks, CDN nodes, and testing. The lowest configuration with 256MB of memory is only $2.95/month.
