OCBC Bank Balance Transfer Guide and Alternative Solutions
Recently, many users have received emails from OCBC Bank requesting proof of a Singapore address. Failure to provide this documentation in time will result in account closure. However, most users do not reside or work in Singapore, effectively forcing them to close their accounts. Therefore, it is recommended to transfer your OCBC deposits as soon as possible. Below, the author summarizes the issues encountered during the transfer process and welcomes further contributions.

Transferring OCBC Bank Deposits
There are three scenarios; please identify your situation:
Only SGD Balance
This is the simplest scenario. The general methods include:
- Transfer SGD to other Singapore bank accounts (e.g., Wise).
- Transfer SGD to major brokerage firms, such as Interactive Brokers Singapore or Longbridge Singapore.
- Directly scan the Alipay payment code for consumption.
- Bind the 360 Debit Card to Alipay for consumption.
GSA Account Holds Non-SGD Currency Greater Than 100
If your GSA account holds other currencies, such as USD, and the balance exceeds 100, this is also relatively simple. You can click [Transfer - Local Transfer - Transfer GSA USD to your other SGD account (e.g., to 360)]. Then, follow the methods above to transfer funds from the 360 account.
If the transfer from GSA to 360 fails, your account may be restricted to "outbound only." In this case, you must proceed with cross-border remittance or refer to the methods below.
GSA Account Holds Non-SGD Currency Less Than 100
If your GSA account holds other currencies but the balance is less than 100 (e.g., only 70-something USD), this situation is more complicated. The author attempted the following methods, all of which failed:
- Binding the 360 Debit Card to Alipay to pay in CNY, resulting in an "insufficient balance" error (the GSA USD was not used): Failed.
- Directly scanning the Alipay payment code to consume in CNY, unable to select the GSA account: Failed.
- Attempting to exchange GSA USD for SGD, prompted with a minimum requirement of 100 USD: Failed.
- Attempting cross-border remittance, prompted with a minimum requirement of 100 USD: Failed.
- Attempting to transfer directly to Alipay, unable to select the GSA account: Failed.
After all the above methods failed, the author successfully spent the remaining GSA balance by using the 360 Debit Card to make purchases on foreign websites. The author paid a Stripe merchant directly; theoretically, other foreign merchants can also be used, provided the merchant supports the payment currency that matches your GSA balance.
For example, if a foreign merchant supports USD payments and your GSA balance is also in USD, using the 360 Debit Card should work directly under matched currency conditions.
