Test Configuration

In terms of configuration, the Singapore data center has a bandwidth limit of 80Mbps, similar to the Japan data center, which is relatively generous.

Download Speed

Below is the download speed test. The fastest speed reached 8.94MB/s. Although the official limit is 80Mbps, I personally feel it only reaches 60-70Mbps (upload speed has not been tested yet).

The average latency from the Super Ping test in China is 126.6ms, which is slightly higher than the previous Japan data center.

Route Tracing

Telecom Route from Kunming, Yunnan (Outbound)

Unicom Route from Harbin (Outbound)

Mobile Route from Hefei, Anhui (Outbound)

From the outbound route tracing, it can be seen that Harbin Unicom goes directly through the Shanghai exit to Singapore, while Kunming Telecom and Hefei Mobile use the PCCW line.

Below is the return route tracing test using the mping script. The return path goes through Hong Kong to the mainland, with direct connections for all three networks and no detours.

From the final route tracing, it is clear that both outbound and return paths have direct connections for all three networks. However, based on xiaoz's multiple tests, some regions still experience higher exit latency.

Conclusion

The overall latency of the HostKVM Singapore data center is higher than that of the Japan data center, but both offer direct connections for all three networks. If you require better network performance, consider the Japan data center; if you need higher bandwidth, consider Singapore. Note that HostKVM does not allow setting up proxy servers (climbing the Great Firewall). Those looking to build a website can rest assured, but those planning other activities should not bother.
